As a nit-picky flashlight owner who rates them from 0 to 10, this light gets an 8 for me. I've used it scuba diving, hiking in Arches National Park after sundown, and in various other situations. The light can be easily separated into four sections, each sealed with an O-ring, but the central body to the lens body can spin out instead of tightening up snugly. The silver push-button switch on the body selects the brightness and flash mode, while the tail-switch turns the light on and off. There are five brightness levels, ranging from dim to yikes! The overdrive setting is incredibly bright, and the flashing mode will blind and disorient anyone. The clip is heavy-duty, and the lens is glass. The beam is a hard spot with typical fall-off on the sides, making it great for hiking, camping, and exploring. If you're shooting night photography, this is an ideal focusing assist light.
